The decommisioning of njord.hpc.ntnu.no

njord.hpc.ntnu.no will have its last day of operation on Sunday 15 April, 2012.
The system will be taken off-line and powered off on Monday 16 April at 08:00.

We have taken steps to preserve data from user's home areas. If access to data from njord is needed, please send and email to support-ntnu@notur.no.

We expect the new system vilje.hpc.ntnu.no to be accessible for regular use in approximately two months.

Continued service of "njord"

We have earlier announced the decommissioning of njord in February. Due to an unfortunate delay in the delivery of our new system is there a change in plans. According to our current plan, will njord continue its service until after Easter."njord" will have its last day of service by the end of week 15 , around 13 April.

NOTUR-projects can make use of their quota on njord until the end of the current allocation period, 30 March. There is no allocated no quotas on njord in the next period.

NTNU-users may use njord through Easter.

The whole system will be decommissioned after Easter. The earlier plan to leave storage accessible will not be implemented. Accordingliy, access to data stored on njord ceases by the end of week 15.

Njord continues in service for another month.

Njord.hpc.ntnu.no will continue its operation to the end of January. The planned replacement of njord in January has been delayed by one month. Njord will go offline in the first week of February, but come back online as a downsized system in the second week of February. It will be possible to login on njord for accessing data and home areas to the end of March 2012.

Njord will be decommisioned by the end of December 2011.

njord.hpc.ntnu.no will be decommisioned by the end of December 2011. Last day of operation is 31 December 2011. All NOTUR-users must copy their data to another system. Njord will not be accessible after 31 December.

iRODS 3.0 is installed on Norstore. New features are also implemented

1. iRODS 3.0 is installed on norstore-trd and norstore-osl.

2. iRODS client icommands are implemented in the module system on norstore-trd:

module load irods.

3. A new irods icommand, igroupadmin, is implemented on norstore-trd. (Note! This command is not part of the standard irods icommands).

This command is only for the group administrators. It is for adding new users to a group and list users in a group.

Norstore-trd Downtime

DOWNTIME!!
On Thursday 18th of August, there will be one hour downtime from 15:00-16-00 due to firmware upgrade of some network equipment which connects Norstore-trd to the out side world.
