Updated RPM's on njord
The following software is updated on njord
- bash
- Updated to 3.2 pl 39. Now supports ulimits above 2GiB.
- bzip2
- Updated to 1.0.5. Approximately 30% faster at high compression levels due to inline compilations.
- gmp
- New GNU multi-precision library and utilities, version 4.2.2. All of the functionality is provided though performance is not optimal.
- lzma
- New compression library and utilities LZMA, version 4.32.5. Provides better compression than bzip2 at the expense of more cpu and memory.
- tar
- Updated to 1.20. Now supports compression with gzip, bzip2 and lzma. Easy-to-use compression switch
-aselects compression tool to use based on tar archive suffix.
rpm -qi name for more information on the different packages.
