Vilje.hpc.ntnu.no: performance issue

We have experience differences in communication performance when using different MPI-libraries. Please make sure you use MPT 2.06 as MPI-library as this gives best performance on "vilje.hpc.ntnu.no"

Binares built on "ve.hpc.ntnu.no" have been built with MPT 2.04 as MPI-library. These binaries can suffer performance wise. A rebuild with MPT 2.06 as MPI-library can be necessary to achieve maximum performance.

To toggle between MPT 2.04 and MPT 2.06, use the "module" command. The shell command "module avail" list which MPT-version is loaded by default. Currently it is MPT 2.04, but this will likely change to MPT 2.06 soon.
