Storage problem on stallo.

by Roy Einar Dragseth last modified Dec 30, 2010 02:24 PM

We have problems with one of the storage arrays holding /global/work on stallo and have been forced to disable it. This means that some files will be unreadable until we can fix the storage array. New files will not be affected by this so this will only be a problem if your jobs tries to read old files on the /global/work filesystem.

You can identify which files are affected by running the following command:

lfs find --obd sfs-ost337_UUID /global/work/$USER

Even if the files seems to exist it is not possible to read or write to them. It is however possible to remove them with the rm command, this will give an intput/output error for every file, but they will get removed. Then it is possible to recreate the file if you have a copy of it.

We are sorry for the problems this may cause.
